Winning hockey streak for Old Wulfs U14s
Posted by Nobody on 19 February 2017
Old Wulfs U14 s returned to winning ways against Sutton Coldfield and Streetley. Shiv and Jag guesting from West Bromwich, due to half term and injuries we had no sjubs so Rajveer and Dylan got too play full games back to back, a big ask at their age. Josh Sahib and Dan Jandu completed the team.
Sutton unfortunately did not have a keeper, meaning pretty much every time we entered their D we scored racing into a 7 0 lead. We then lent them our keeper the final score was 8 0. Dylan scoring a couple of goals at the far post.
Streetley were next and provided a stiffer test having beaten us 4 2 a couple of weeks ago.
Whilst the first half was competitive crucially our finishing was excellent, Rajveer deflecting in a bullet cross from Jagg to give us the lead. Goals from Shiv, Jagg and Sahib put us 4 0 up.
Streetley got a goal back but the boys rallied to lead 5 1 at half time.
After a bit of half time coaching Dylan put us 6 1 up deflecting in at the far post , just as he had practiced at the interval .
Shiv scored a messi like goal wobbling through the defence and finishing calmly with a slap to the roof of the net.
Final score an emphatic 9 2.
Well done to all the boys, well done to Shiv who led the team in a very mature fashion.
