More Success for Under-Twelves
Posted by Nobody on 19 June 2017
As the positive reputation of our 7-a-side tournaments grows, this week we had nine teams enter. There were two from us and Finchfield, as well as Wednesbury, Streetley, Telford, Stafford and Wolverhampton.
A big well done to our teams, who combined won 7 and drew 4 games, remaining unbeaten and also had the best two records on the day.
So much happened in what felt like a marathon, these are the highlights I can remember:
Billy Pearson made his debut, and was so happy to do so. He is the first person I can remember skipping around the pitch.
William Evans scored again to seal a win against Wolverhampton.
Jack Lovegrove was most improved player of the day putting in consecutive solid performances.
Rajveer was also much improved, making a couple of excellent one-on-one saves against Telford.
Jake, Ricky, Joseph and Dan Taylor were all good in a mercurial way, with a mix of quality and not so good play.
Ben and James Wall performed well throughout, with good support from Fraser and Dylan.
Goalscorers that I can remember:
Jake, Joseph, Dylan, Dan Taylor, Ben Wall, William. Apologies if I missed anyone off.
It turned out to be a scorching hot day, so well done to Bob Munn for umpiring 11 games. And finally well done to captain Dan Jandu in goal - loud and proud best describes his efforts.
Training is next week
The next tournament will be on July 1st.
