Junior Squads battle at Cannock

First off was the u12's on which looked like it was going to be a miserable, rainy day. The u12's consisted of Rajveer, Daniel, Joseph, Harry, Billy, Ricky, William and Noah. Starting our first game against Wolverhampton, we pressed hard, defending as a team and playing good passing hockey. A fair result to start off the tournament with a 0-0 draw. Next up was Stafford with an U16's squad. Despite this, Old Wulfs battled on and ended coming away with a 2-0 loss against a highly skilled opposition. Carrying on, we found ourselves playing against yet another U16 team which was Preston, this time ending up with a 6-0 loss which came from players giving up courage in order to play against these older players. After a short break in between games, Old Wulfs came back ready to fight for the win in the next game. Against an U12's team from Stone, we grabbed a 1-0 win. Goal by Dan Taylor. Up next was a strong North Staffs side that was equally aged, being the last game of the tournament we wanted to go out on a positive result, and that's just what we got. A 2-1 win with goals for Joe Mellis and Dan Taylor was a great result for the team. A great performance from everyone. Well played!
As the U16 tournament started, the team consisted of Dan, Callum, Sahib, Jack, Josh, Paul, Shiv and Jag. First up was Green Finchfield, a strong team that resulted in us losing 3-0 despite a strong team performance. Second match was against Bull Finchfield with a slightly weaker team to the other Finchfield team. This game ended up with a 2-0 win with both goals from Sahib. Next against a Wednesbury team was a good game of hockey which lead to a 3-0 win. Goals by Sahib(2) and Shiv. Following a great start to the tournament was a game against Stavely which meant we come away with a 7-0 win. Goals by Callum(2), Shiv(3), Paul(1), Sahib(1) and Jag(1). Our final game was a 4-0 win against North Staffs with some great hockey being played from the team. Goals by Shiv(1) and Sahib(3). An excellent tournament for Old Wulfs with great team play. Well played!
