Cup progress

Grim conditions at The Royal saw Wulfs progress to the second round of the over 40s cup against a resilient Stafford side.
The visitors began in spirited style, hitting their target man regularly and building determined attacks, but it was a Wulfs error that lead to a sloppy goal for Stafford and an early lead.
Thereafter Wulfs began to take command, penetrating mainly on the right hand side with a combination of Andy Stephens, our guest from Wolverhampton, Hemmings and Tibble.
It was Nightingale who tucked away two chances to give us a half time advantage.
As the rain became heavier in the second period Wulfs dominated possession, and while the likes of Brown, Al Thompson and Nightingale tidied anything up at the back, Zorof Khan combined with Stephens to push Wulfs forward. But a solid Stafford GK denied Jandu on a number of occasions.
Tibble converted a chance to move the score to 3-1 and it could have been more as Wulfs cruised to victory.
Man of the Match: Tibble.
