Match Report | When we arrived at the pitch, it was still frozen, particularly badly where it was in the shade. Both teams agreed it was not fit for a league match, so a friendly was played. Both teams stuggled with the conditions in an evenly contested first half which ended 3-3, Carl Harrison scoring 1 and John Murray scoring 2 for us. Despite the sun being out conditions became more difficult in the second half, so bad that Andy Cooper had a nastly fall when taking a free hit (or he had had a very good night the night before!). Both teams played evenly in the second half, but Stafford came away with a further 3 goals, 2 of which came from balls cleared to the top of the D where they had a spare man coming in. Hopefully things will be different in next Saturday re-match, it will certainly be a tight match. |
