Match Report | A routine win, but with a favourable result elsewhere this was a giant leap towards a title win. A weakened Barlaston side were never really in the game as Wulfs dominated from start to finish. Dave Ward crashed home a penalty corner to kick things off, and after a minor panic in defense and a penalty corner for Barlaston, the ball hardly reached the Wulfs D for the rest of the game. By half-time it was 5-0 thanks to unstoppable reverse shots from Wilson and Taylor, Hole and Ablard added to the Barlaston misery. Wulfs failed to make double figures, but a terrific hattrick from Ashworth kept the scoreboard operators busy. Tutton grabbed one to make it 7 goal scorers in the game. Back at the Royal Oak Will had already bought his jug before news of the Bloxwich result arrived, a result which puts Wulfs one point ahead in the title race with one game to go. Evesham away next week will be the decider... |
