Match Report

The Chris Tutton show rolled into Oswestry on a sunny afternoon that saw the re-formed Shropshire side play their first league game.

Not knowing what to expect of the opposition Wulfs were nonetheless surprised by an attacking team with some skilled players. Both teams looked shaky in defense during the opening minutes, but after a couple of saves it was Oswestry who took the lead.

It wasn't long before there was goal-mouth scramble at the other end, resulting in a penalty stroke which Birch placed about as far wide as I have ever seen one missed. Fortunately the resulting 16 hit went straight to a Wulfs player and the equalizer followed anyway.

At half time and 1-1 Wulfs knew there was plenty of work to do, but took full control in the second period with a goal scoring bonanza, headed by the awesome Tutton who seems to have found the magic formula this season. His first first team hattrick was capped by some exuberant celebrations and killed off the game.

Pick of the goals was perhaps a route one effort beginning with a Wilson aerial to Griffiths, then one pass into the circle and a finish. If someone tells me who scored that one I'll fill it in here!

A good start to the league season and a well deserved man of the match for Chris Tutton.
