Match Report Despite the result a good performance, for the first time this season when faced with strong opposition we did not capitulate and get thrashed. The first half was played mostly in our half, Blossomfield playing good possession hockey with plenty of threat on our goal. However our midfield did not give up and kept chasing the ball hard. Steve Rowlands had his best game for us,putting to good effect the techniques learnt at goalkeeper training the previous Sunday. At halftime we were two nil down but still in the game. Rowly had picked up a painful knock to the knee, nearly having to excuse himself to throw up, but manned up and stayed on. The first twenty minutes of the second half was our best period of play this year,as we dominated play through hard work and good team play. Finally getting our reward as Martin Jandu put the ball in off the crossbar and via a defender on the way down from the crossbar. Interestingly the umpire gave us a flick rather than a goal, thankfully Roger scored, so we still got our goal. Sadly blossomfield scored immediately ,which relieved the pressure they had been feeling. It was end to end from then on blossomfield eventually winning 4 - 1 , Ed Craddock & George both had thier best games by a country mile. If we maintain this level of performance the positive results will follow.
