Match Report |
With three changes to the midfield, old wulfs laboured through the first half, posing little threat to the finchfield goal. Finchfield deservedly leading by one goal to nil at halftime. Old Wulfs began the second half brightly and equalised via a Martin Jandu strike, often goals change the balance of a game. Sadly this one inspired finchfield to win a succesion of penalty corners, and they raced into a four one lead. The next key moment came as finchfield were awarded a penalty flick, and their defender, who had been awarded three green cards, two for bad tackles, but was still some how on the pitch. Strode up to take the flick and kindly put it five foot wide. From then on the last fifteen minutes were non stop old wulfs attacks, and shots at goal, kram Lally deflecting in old wulfs second goal. Martin Jandu escoring the third from a short corner. In a dramatic twist Old Wulfs won a short corner as the final whistle blew, and via a deflection jandu completed his hat trick as the ball flew into the goal above their keepers head. As I've said all season a three goal lead in hockey is nothing, well done to the team for continuing to battle, the looks of abject dejection on the finchfield faces, made all the effort worthwhile. |
