Match Report

Old Wulfs had a slightly off week this week its fair to say.

The fist half started strongly in the Old Wulfs favour with both teams pushing for an early goal. The midfield put together some nice passing movements which often found the gaps in the Bromsgrove defence, unfortunately these were chances which we simply couldn't convert into goals. Broms first goal came from a drag flick which Dilly saw too late because of the sun at the top of the D. Broms second goal came soon after when the ball hit a Broms foot which the umpire didn't see, however Old Wulfs seemed to stop and appeal allowing Broms to run through relatively unopposed and score. We went into half time 2-0, both were unlucky goals to concede and we knew there was still a result to be had out of this.

Unfortunately the second half was a different story. We struggled to maintain structure and regularly gave away possession very cheaply. We weren't helped by the fact that Broms had a couple of very useful substitues come onto the pitch and we struggled to adapt to Broms attacking line up. The last five minutes of the half though Old Wulfs began to find their form again as Broms often pressed too many men foward and left thir defence exposed. This lead to Satchwell beating his man for the hundredth time down the wing, finding Nightingale on the top of the D, who then slipped it back to satchwell who had continued his run into the D and then sportingly passed it to Rowlands on the 'P' spot to slot it in. If we had played the second half as well as we had played the last five minutes then the scoreline would have been a different story.

That brings the 2nd team to the end of their League games for 2013 and there are still things we can work on going into the next half of the season.

MOTM: Joe Satchwell, for some excellent runs down the line and continually beating his man throughout the entire game.

Special mention must also go to Sam Coleman who played the entire game despite receiveing a broken thumb in the early moments ofthe game.
