Match Report | Saturday saw the 2nds take on a strong Stone squad, bolstered by recent 1st team players and youngsters coming through their squads. From the off it was clear Old Wulfs would be under a lot of pressure at Stone quickly managed to squeeze two goals past Archer in goal. However the 2s looked dangerous on the break with Tibble slotting the ball past the Stone keeper to make it 2-1. By half time the score stood at 3-1 and Old Wulfs should have been 3-2 if not level on goals going into the break with our coiunter attacks. The second half was a somewhat different story. We tsruggled to find our stride and Stone brought the scores to 6-1 within 15 mins of the 2nd half whistle. Nevertheless Old Wulfs still looked dangerous on the attack with Coleman beating the keeper on his near post for 6-2. Hole also managed to fire a cross in for a defelction off Rowlands to make it 7-3. However with the final whistle the scores stood at 8-3, a tad generous towards Stone on paper and some fine goalkeeping from the Stone keeper. MOTM: Alex Thompson who gave an outstanding perfomance at the centre of the defence. |
