Match Report | You could look at the match report from our last meeting vs Solihull as this was almost a carbon copy of that game. Against the league leaders Wulfs once again went toe-to-toe for the opening 35 minutes, taking the lead through some neat improvisation from a penalty corner by Mark Wilson resulting in an Andy Peters put-away. The visitors pushed for an equaliser but were denied by some sweet saves and a goal-line clearance by Dave Cartwright. Then a pc was awarded for a Wulfs foot; time for the opposite-end umpire to overrule and award a stroke despite players backing up on the line. 1-1 at half time would have been fair enough but another umpiring howler allowed a second for Solihull. I'm not even going into that one. I'd prefer not to go into the second half either, as Wulfs undid all their hard work. Passes went astray, possession was conceded time and again and the team folded under the pressure. The positives were a return to the action for Humpherson and no ill-effects after Litchfield was assaulted last week. MoM: Pearson |
