Match Report | Old Wulfs away-day woes continued with defeat at Blossomfield. Matters began well as Wulfs took the lead thanks to Ablard's hit into the circle deflecting off a defender's stick past a helpless 'keeper. Blossomfield were temporarily reduced to 10 thanks to some indiscipline. But it was soon backs to the wall time as Blossomfield began to assert themselves, creating a number of opportunities, only to be denied by some reflex saves from Pearson and a foot on the line from Ward conveniently missed by the umpire. But despite resilient defending Solihull did manage to score twice before half-time to take the lead, and Wulfs were beginning to display some alarming symptoms of being unable to play hockey. The home side scored two quick goals to effectively close out the game, although Peters converted a stroke to bring it back to 4-2. But a concerted effort to press for a third left Wulfs extremely short in defence and the floodgates opened. Another hard-luck story but it's important for Wulfs to shrug it off and get back to business next week. |
