Match Report | A tough day for Old Wulfs new-look 1s with a match against West Brom 1s. This would turn out to be our only friendly before the league starts next week and gave an opportunity for players to play together at this level for the first time. Both teams started brightly, with Old Wulfs moving the ball around fairly well and West Brom also trying to control the middle ground. The game remained very even through the first half before West Brom took the lead through a deflected cross - OG number 1...
Old Wulfs continued to try to take the game to West Brom a d through more control of the game being gained by Sunny, Si and Archie, Wulfs hit back with a quickfire double just before half time through Sunny and Finn. After a positive half time, the flow of the game started to go against Wulfs. West Brom pressed higher and as fatigue set in to the 11 men of Wulfs, gaps started to appear in the middle of the pitch which weren't there before, allowing West Brom to score two more themselves and unbelievably another 2 own goals which left Kevin in goal with very little chance. Try as we might we just couldn't break the West Brom defence down any more and we are left to look back on an unusual game but a good run out all the same. Many thanks to Nic Anderson and Manny Bains for hanging around after the 3s game too, to allow us to have a couple of subs in case!
