| Match Report | The third team assembled at WGS for introductions and were then joined by our opposition (Telford 4ths) for a two minute silence (following England Hockey guidelines for community sport) to show our respect for our late Queen. The teams then went on to play a thoroughly competitive game, played in a good spirit, which Telford won 1 - 0. OW had most of the possession in midfield but could not find a way to force the ball into the net - on one occasion only being denied by an excellent save by the the Telford keeper. For a team including three players new to the Club, the thirds settled into a good style driven from midfield by Nic Anderson and newcomer Angus Watson and included solid perfromances from developing players Vish, Ahmed and Harry. A good start to the new season and a performance to build on next week. |
