Match Report | It was a really tough game against a strong Newport side with lots of talented youth, on a dry water-based pitch. Newport deserved their win but we gave a really good account of ourselves - Simon Heron played his first game for a few years and did well. Our young players Rithick and Billy seem to improve every week and are growing in confidence. Andy Hamilton and Peter Yates came back into our side despite me forgetting to pick Peter up. The first half was fairly even and we created a few penalty corners, one of which was nearly converted by Ray. We did however make a couple of silly errors to go 2-0 down. The second half was more one-sided as us old crumblies began to... crumble. Well done everyone it was a fun game. Man of the match - Andy Cooper who gave it everything and at one point I thought he would vomit a lung onto the pitch. Dedication. |
