| Match Report | Not our finest hour…
Having achieved a comfortable 4-0 win against Market Drayton before Christmas, they turned up with a few new faces and a lot more skill, fitness and speed – and we didn’t turn up at all, at least in the first half.
By half time we were 3-1 down and despite a smartly taken goal from Martin Jandu to briefly make it 1-1, our marking discipline was poor, allowing Market Drayton far too much room and time to play the game their way. We were better in the second half and for a while we managed to contain them and start to apply more pressure , but two further goals put the result beyond doubt.
One might say Market Drayton had the rub of the green as two of their goals were well taken deflection shots that could have gone anywhere, other than the roof of the net, but in this life you make your own luck and we were beaten by the better side on the day.
