3rd Team Vs Telford and Wrekin 4s

Old Wulf’s welcomed unbeaten and top of the table Telford to WGS for today’s game.  Old Wulf’s got the game underway and for the first 10 minutes the score remained 0-0 with either side unable to make a break through. However at around 12 minutes Telford got their break when Old Wulf’s were slow to react as Telford advanced into the D which resulted in a goal. 1-0 Telford.  Undeterred and a little frustration from the goal Old Wulf’s continued to press in search of an equaliser. However, it was Telford who increased their lead on around 22 minutes. 2-0 Telford. It remained 2-0 at half time despite Old Wulf’s creating several chances, including hitting both post and crossbar, that on another day would have resulted in goals.

As soon as the second half was underway, Old Wulf’s had the better of the play, but still struggled to make their efforts count. Then on 46 minutes Old Wulf ’s pulled a goal back via a penalty corner injected by Nic and a first strike from Jandu. 2-1 Telford. Following the goal each team continued to probe with both again failing to convert their chances.  Old Wulf’s in particular had several chances to get on level terms, but it was Telford who grabbed the initiative scoring a further three goals on 57, 61 and 69 minutes as Old Wulf’s tired towards the end of the game.

Full Time 5-1 Telford.

Telford where good value for their win although the score line did flatter them a little and Old Wulf’s gave them a good game.
