2nd Team Vs Stafford 4s

First away game of the season took us back to Chase Park Cannock after a break of a few years to play Stafford 4ths..Stafford having lost the Beaconside pitch due to some nefarious moves by the Football Association.

After the players worked out which pitch was being used (Cannock use the other pitch) we prepared for the game, A late cry off by the Chairman meant a reshuffle in defence.The team a blend of experience of youth, Stafford starting with a more mature line up. We started the better of the two teams but chances were scrappy. The two pieces of good passing play from Wulfs resulted in goals from the Duhra siblings (Sahib and then Rajveer).

Wulfs were well in control but the solitary chance from Stafford in the half resulted in a goal. A cross from the attacker was deflected off Lally's heel into Horton's groin, the keeper struggled to clear the ball and the attacker scrambled home.

The second half brought more of the same, the midfield and attack created multiple chances and short corners, but could only add a single goal to the tally with Roberts scoring from a short.

The skipper (Thompson) then went off with a calf injury and the game became stretched with both teams creating chances. Roberts scored from another short and then Stafford replied from a shot at the top of the D that hadn't been closed down.

The game finished 4-2 and a well deserved win and an unbeaten start to the season..
