Match Report | [Apologies in advance for the quality of this match report, I took a ball in the face during the first half and my focus wasn't really on the game for the rest of the match. The good news is that gum shields work (juniors - please make sure you wear yours) so my face is still intact, the bad news my face still looks the same.] With the skipper away this week, captaincy duties fell to Lally. unfortunately due to two separate travel related issues we only had 8 players on the pitch with minutes to go before kick off. The Chairman and Rajveer arrived to allow us to start with 10 players. The chaotic nature of our preparation told and Sutton Colfield 4s took an early lead. Our three remaining squad players arrived and we reorganized. - Finn scored to equalize - Sutton scored again - Gurnam equalised - Skipper went off injured Half time and plenty of positives from a crazy period of hockey. - Gurnam put us in front - Sutton equalized - Harman put us back in the lead. - Sutton had a goal disallowed (shot from outside the D) - Gurnam unlucky not to score his hattrick - Gary scoring from a solo run , including a fall and recovery to his feet Full time, a well deserved victory and a continuation of our league unbeaten run. |
