Match Report | A local derby today for the 2nds against Wolverhampton 2s held at Aldersley in glorious sunshine. First task of the day was to actually make it to the pitch, as a combination of parking restrictions due to a Darts tournament and an accident in Claregate meant delays in making it to the game for many of the team. When the game did start we fell behind to an early drag flick short corner converted by the Wolves skipper. Wulfs tried to ease in to the game but consistency was hampered by a series of first half sending offs (2 Greens and a Yellow for Lally and a Green for Sunny). Wolves broke again to go 2-0 up. Wulfs then had a period of dominance which resulted in a number of near misses. Wulfs finally made pressure tell when Murray fed Brookes to score. A half time team talk encouraged the team to show more discipline for the second period. The second half was an even affair with both teams unable to convert chances and the game finished with a narrow win for Wolverhampton. Man of the Match - Harry Snelford who had put in a cracking shift in midfield alongside Roberts. |
