Match Report | The 2nds travelled to bottom of the table Beacon 5ths for a late 4pm start at the Aston Uni Recreation Grounds. We welcomed Matt Horton back after injury but were missing several regulars particularly in midfield. Thankfully we were able to call Jackson, Cox, and Taylor into the ranks (Dan playing his first game since December). From the off Wulfs were in charge of the game and raced into a 4 goal lead by the break, Two goals from Murray, one from Jackson and a thunderbolt strike from Harman. The second half brought more of the same and Murray completed his hattrick and then O’Sullivan caught a ball in mid air on his reverse to fire in the sixth. Wulfs had more chances to add to the tally but came up just short. Murray and Harman terrorized the Beacon defense and worked well together. Beacon fired in a late consolation, but Wulfs were well worth the win. Man of the Match – The midfielders, Bains, Jackson, Rajveer, Jackson, Taylor and O’Sullivan all put in a tremendous shift with Bains in particular terrier like tackling all game, the defense were assured and controlled but it must be Ted Murray who scored the first of hopefully many hattricks for the club who takes the honors. |
