Match Report | Old Wulfs welcomed high-flying Newport to the Valley, for a battle between two of the title favourites. As with the reverse fixture in the first half of the season, Newport started far too strongly for Old Wulfs and quickly took a 3 goal lead, with shots firing all over the goal leaving Archer with little to no chance. Old Wulfs gradually got a foothold in the game and started launching some counter attacks of their own and even managed to score a scrappy goal - created by debutant Brooks and finished by Evans on his return to the team. This seemed to anger Newport who then took another of their many chances to give the away side a 4-1 advantage at half time. The second half was much like the first - a lot of pressure from Newport with Archer keeping the scoreline respectable, but some very clinical finishing making its way through. A further 3 goals without reply meant that the final score was 7-1. The home side out in an excellent shift but were simply beaten by a better team. Credit goes to Si Evans and Harj Duhra making their returns to the team, and Harry Brookes on debut - all of whom could have been considered MOTM, but in the absence of a team vote, the captain's award goes to Luke Archer. Goals: Si Evans MOTM: Luke Archer
