Match Report | Old Wulfs 1s welcomed Sutton 4's to WGS for a match between two of the form teams in NW7. Both teams started well with some good play both ways but also some sloppy control which allowed both sides some early sights of goal. After some confident interplay between their forwards, Sutton took an early lead, sliding the ball past Luke Archer, but within 10 minutes a good move was finished off by Dan Taylor to send the teams in to the break all square. The second half was a much more confident affair by the home team - excellent ball movement by the whole team, led by Cartwright and Archie Harris, meant that Old Wulfs firmly stayed in control of the same and the pressure told midway through the half. After coming close with a couple of short corners, Old Wulfs picked this moment to ay real possession hocked, with no less than 4 transfers pulling Sutton all over the place, allowing Cartwright to put a long ball through to A. Harris to bobble one over the keeper from the top of the D. Sutton then pressed to get an equaliser, but didn't really cause the firm Old Wulfs defence too many issues. A couple of minutes from time, the game was well and truly put to bed with a strike from a short corner by Minton, which the Sutton keeper couldn't keep out. A cracking game played by both sides in good spirits, except for the late green for Flanagan (tut tut!) And we move on to play Beacon away from home next week. MOTM: Dave Cartwright Scorers: Taylor, A Harris, Minton
