5th Team Vs Ludlow 2

Stretched right to the limit of our resources we scraped the the very bottom of the barrell and discovered Chris Tibble to take as our 11th man to face Ludlow on a warm sunny morning. The pitch at William Brookes was as dry and slow as <insert joke here> and the game was always going to be hard work against a team of youngsters. However Ludlow helped us out by having two of their players turn up late - we were unable to take advantage of that despite having most the possession and a few penalty corners.

Tibble battled away in midfield until the lower half of his body seemed to atrophy during the second half. Ludlow unpicked our defence once in the first half and once in the second, and as the game wore on it became more and more apparent we aren't as young as we once were. Lovepreet demonstrated superhuman levels of energy throughout the game but the rest of us were pretty much ready for the end when it finally came.

Man of the Match - Dave Carver for enterprising play especially in the first half.
