Match Report | Old Wulfs visited Bloxwich for their second summer league game with a mixture of 1s and 2s players to make a generally strong side. Bloxwich, on the other hand, had a deep field of 1s to call upon and from the off it was apparant that Old Wulfs would face an extremely challenging game. Bloxwich scored the opener from a short corner (0-1) and after a brief rally by Old Wulfs, suddenly found themselves back on equal terms (1-1) following an excellent goal from Joe Mellis to beat several defenders and the goalkeeper. An error prior to the end of the first half allowed a Bloxwich counter attack to regain the lead (1-2). In the second half, Bloxwich begun to exert their quality over the Old Wulfs side and scored several quick fire goals to take a 6-1 lead. The game began to decline in quality as Old Wulfs struggled to find many answers against two mis-matched sides and Bloxwich had begun to take their foot off the gas. In the final minute, a short corner was won and accruately placed into the corner by Will Ashworth to bring the final score asĀ 2-6 in favour of Bloxwich. |
