Match Report | Another frustrating afternoon of hockey for the fourth team against Aldridge and Walsall 3rd team. We should and could have been two nil up before we conceded two goals before the half time whistle. We kept the ball well at times and passed it with accuracy through from defence to attack, but without a natural goal scorer, we struggled. To be fair, Dheeraj Kumar led the line well and give us an attacking threat. The second half went pretty much the same way as the first one. We threatened much, but didn't really test their goalkeeper. We forced a number of short corners, but the ball did not run for us. Again, we conceded a further two goals. Notable performances from Otto Kehler, on his debut in goal for the 4ths and Noah Hayward who played well at right back. The key point from this game is that we must practise cleanly stopping the ball so we have time to make a decision on our next move. Too many times, the ball bounced off the stick and we lost possession. The big question: Will we play next week? |
