Match Report | An early start for the 4ths - pushback at 11.30 at Leek - an an early setback with the 11 facing a cry off at 8.20am. This meant a draft into the starting 11 for the President! The first half was a really good half, the 4ths took the game to Leek, with Josh Harris taking the Leek left back apart at will, chances came for both sides but none were converted, Horton making a brilliant save to keep OW level at half time. The 2nd half started in the same vein, but Lek eventually found a breakthrough - their forward finding space in the D and smashing past Horton. OW continued to press but the 11 were starting to feel the pressure of the 15 man rotating Leek squad. Leek eventually scrambled a 2nd to wrap up the game. A tremendous all-round effort by all involved. Another example of how well the 4ths can play when matched with teams of a similar calibre. James Wall and Josh Harris impressed again, but every man gave 100% and performed brilliantly. Next week is our make or break game v Lichfield - on the evidence of the last 2 weeks, we can approach this match with cautious optimism! |
