Match Report

OW 4ths lined up against Bridgnorth 6ths in a vital relegation match. OW were weakened by the loss of both central midfielders, but boosted by the the presence of Thompson A, returning after a lengthy injury absence.

Bridgnorth started stronger but OW  managed to repel their attacks with relative ease. The deadlock was broken when Thompson A found himself in space, made ground and threaded the hall through to Thompson E -Ed got a shot on target which squeezed through the keeper. Bridgnorth had the better of the first half but OW went 8ntothe break 1 up!

The 2nd half saw OW have more dominance than the first - the defence somehow played a fluid defence - the skipper played all the positions at some point - but contained any threat Bridgnorth posed.

With minutes remaining the ball found its way to Murray who finished emphatically from the top of the D.

A deserved win - playing a team who we were able to compete with allowed Harris, Calloway and Wall J to show how much they have developed in recent weeks. Bains and Thompson E filled the central midfield roles brilliantly and the old man defence were solid throughout. Murray was excellent up front

We are eying the great relegation escape again....a huge team effort, and for the purists there were a total of 0 short corners in this game!
