Match Report | Despite a pre match blow to the 4ths, the captain ruling himself out with a chest infection, the game started at a fast pace with OW breaking quickly on several occasions. Drayton seemed to take control of the midfield but OW stuck to their task pressurising both flanks, but failing to find the killer touch in front of goal. Drayton took the lead after a series of errors (from both teams) resulted in their forward in a 1 on 1 with Craig. He tried to lift the ball high over the GK but only succeeded in bobbling it under the arm covering the lift. From there on in it was a game of much endeavour, but chances were few and far between. OW pressed hard but could not find an equaliser. Drayton's main threat came from seeking shorts, having one disallowed due to the ball not initially leaving the D. A good performance from the 4ths but (again) the lack of a natural goal scorer proved to be the difference. |
