4th Team Vs Shrewsbury 3

After the disappointment of last week the 4ths looked to regroup and get back to playing hockey as a team. However the task was made difficult by playing the high flying Shrewsbury 3rds.

Early exchanges were even with OW shading the chances - Farmer forcing a good save from the keeper- but Shrews took the lead when the defence failed to clear and they soon doubled their lead when a mis hit shot found a striker sneaking in at the back post. Before halftime OW backed off a wave of attackers and consequently went in 0-3 down. 
The 2nd half was much of the same. OW played some good hockey in patches, but consistently failed to cope with the strong running of a good Shrewsbury team. 3 more goals were conceded by full time.

As ever there was no lack of effort but ultimately OW were beaten by the better team.

So we start the 2nd half of the season next week against Tamworth - the President has booked an appointment to avoid playing in goal.....
