Match Report | The 2nd league match of the season saw a welcome win for the OW 4ths - not a regular occurrence it has to be said! OW started well and dominated the first 15 mins being rewarded with Anderson's 'shot'' being deflected in at the far post by Farmer, however Streetly then dominated the rest of the half and scored 3 times, leaving OW a lot to do by half time. However the first 20 mins of the 2nd half resulted in OW utter dominance, by keeping their shape and working the ball into space - the reward was a Mann short corner fired in at the near post, a 2nd Farmer goal to level the scores, and another Mann short corner well worked with Anderson, the finish eluding the keeper at the far post. A superb second half earned a deserved 4-3 victory - David Parnham was excellent on his OW debut, but the whole team were outstanding! Thanks to Saunders and Lally for an excellent umpiring display - and the President was much happier as a manager rather than a GK! |
