Match Report | Will Ashworth scored a hattrick to bring Old Wulfs within three points of leaders Buxton, after the home side had struggled to convert their dominance into goals in the first period. Finchfield put up a solid defence with ex-Old Wulf Zorof Khan organising matters from the back. The opening goal came from a counter-attack with Andy Hobley providing the finish. Finchfield nearly grabbed an unlikely equaliser from a rare foray and a shot pawed around the post by the goalie. The second half was one-way traffic as the visitors began to tire. Darryl Ablard and Owen Shave got in on the act with goals, and there was a flurry of cards as the game became bad tempered but the result was never really in doubt. Man of the match for Will and he came through with a jug in the Oak as demanded by tradition. |
