Match Report | A largely forgettable first half saw few chances for either side in a combative encounter lacking very much flowing hockey. Wulfs broke the deadlock early in the second period thanks to a rare move of quality, and a finish from Sahib Duhra. It seemed that Wulfs might begin to take control, with skipper Matt Griffiths and Daryll Ablard dominating the midfield. But Telford kept battling and showed some silky skills of their own to carve open the opportunity that levelled the score. With 90 seconds remaining Andy Hobley for Old Wulfs lifted the ball over an onrushing keeper only to see it rebound agonisingly off the bar, before Telford countered and squared the ball to an attacker faced with an open goal. Well played Dave Cartwright and Olly Harris - first games of the season. Wulfs now sit second in the table after suffering their first defeat of the season. |
