Match Report | A good work out for the first game of the season for the 4ths, but ultimately a close defeat. Experience was the key word across the defensive line, the youth provided by Johnson P and Sankey A. The game started evenly with chances at both ends, OWs looking a little rusty in front of goal and Matt Horton making several good saves. The speed of the youthful Hampton forwards was causing problems for OW defence and eventually this told with a break away leading to a tap in. 0-1 at half time. The 2nd half saw a positional re-arrangement and OW began to dominate, creating chances, but unfortunately none were taken, until a short corner resulted in a Mann flick to the far post being bundled in by Murray. The last quarter saw a brilliant double save by Horton and chances at both ends, but eventually Hampton overloaded the defence and squeezed a winner in. A good opening game for the 4ths but highlighting our need to be fitter! No man of the match, everyone worked extremely hard for the whole duration! |
