Fifths travelled to play table-topping Bournville 4's on an unseasonally warm February afternoon, expecting a challenging afternoon. In early exchanges this proved to be correct as Bournville moved the ball well and applied pressure to our defence; we held firm and gradually started to get some good possession and create scoring chances. The squad all played their full part in achieving a 4 - 0 win, from Ian Dillworth in goal who made some telling open-play saves and saved a penalty stroke, to Paul Johnson and Robbie Thompson who each scored two goals. The scoreline does not reflect how close the game was, but it does reflect the Fifths effectiveness in this game at both ends of the pitch.
