Match Report | On a day of player shortages the 4ths welcomed back the skipper from injury and/or skiing, Paul Fisher joined us at the last moment to give us a squad of 12. Sutton were expecting an easy ride, but OW matched them early on and took the lead - Mann playing as the lone striker picked up the through ball and played Fisher J in, he rounded the keeper and rolled the ball in. Sutton applied pressure but were unable to convert, OW used Sankey, Fisher and Murray as outlets and created chances of their own. Just before half time Sutton broke away and the equaliser was dispatched! 1-1 at half time and Sutton were rattled....however the difference in league positions showed in the second half, OW tired and Sutton picked off 5 goals. 1-6 was harsh given an excellent first half but the OW legs couldn't match the youth of the Sutton players. Another 100% effort by all - Anderson and Wall B were outstanding, and a new striker found??? Congratulations to Andy Hobley for umpiring his first game and doing a good job. |
