Match Report |
Another hard day at the office for their 4th team.
Match started well with Fisher forcing a penalty stroke within five minutes of the start. Savage duly scored from the spot. 1 - 0 to OW 4th - not a score line we are used to!
The match then proceeded evenly until almost the half hour when Bridgnorth equalised and within minutes took the lead; and just before half time added a third.
Immediately after the start of the second half Bridgnorth broke away and scored their fourth goal. Thereafter it was Bridgnorth forwards v OW defence with excellent work from Dillworth in goal, Savage, Carver, Hill, Anderson and Munn. We had occasional breakaways and threatened the Bridgnorth goal several times with Bains, Fisher, Wall, Sankey and Murray getting into the D but unable to get shots away,
Almost on the stroke of full time Bridgnorth broke into the OW D and got their fifth goal.
As usual everyone put in full efforts. Unfortunately the linkage between defence and attack didn’t work today
