Match Report | The 4ths travelled to Lichfield hampered by unavailability and illness! We did welcome Rhys Jones for his first 4th team outing of the season, but unfortunately he was our 10th man. Lichfield were a young, well coached unit but the 10 controlled the first five minutes, forcing a short corner - Mann's strike deflected just round the post by the keeper. 30 minutes later half time came and the 4ths were 7 down! What could be said? Pride, effort and fight...And those qualities were given by all in the 2nd half - we conceded two more, but forced Lichfield to defend, and created some chances - Sankey, Jones, Thompson and Bains all going close. Sankey worked exceptionally hard in his lone striker role, a great effort. Outplayed, outrun, but never outfought! We left with pride intact! Hopefully Xmas will bring some young legs (but I suspect transplants may be required) |
