Match Report | Another tough day at the (hockey) office for the 4ths, playing away at Sutton, against their 5ths. They were a young, organised, efficient unit and although we held them for 15 mins the first goal was the cue for the floodgates to open - by halftime we were 5 down and not having played badly! The team talk consisted of the Skipper telling the team that pride was at stake and nothing less than 100% commitment was required from all, and the response was fantastic, every ball was chased, every man hassled, and the reward was a fine flowing move (Mann, Munn, Taylor) resulting in Ben Farmer beating the goalkeeper to the cross, reverse stick. They did score again, but the team gave everything to keep them to just the one in 2nd half. The whole team get men of the match for the 2nd half performance - The theft of my stick rounded off a, as previously stated, tough day! |
