Match Report | The 4ths travelled to Bridgnorth for an unaccustomed 3.00pm start. We welcomed Sam Buckley back from an enforced absence and added to Dads Army by naming the club President as our 12th man. OW started the brighter, forcing 2 shorts in the first five minutes, neither bringing success, Bridgnorth began to assert some control thereafter and broke the deadlock after 15mins. A second followed soon after as they converted their first short with a well worked deflection at the near post. Following this a foot on the line gave them the chance to go further ahead from the spot, however the stroke was well wide. Halftime saw the skipper urge OW to push further up and not defend too deep, the result was a period of dominance for OW, only to be suckered on the counter attack. For the rest of the game OW fought for scraps, but the Skipper managed to squeeze a short in at the far post to reduce the deficit, only for Bridgnorth to respond instantly. A hard working performance against a good team - special mention for lone striker Aldersley J who had a fine game working against a strong defensive unit. |
