4th Team Vs North Stafford 4

The 4th team lost to North Staffs 4ths in a hard fought battle. The 4ths welcomed back Ben Farmer and James Fisher, plus youngsters Jake Aldersley and Joe Mellis.

The first 20 minutes were even, with OW creating the best chance which somehow failed to be converted. Almost immediately  N Staffs took the lead from their first short corner, the first time strike being deflected off an OW stick.

The next portion of the game was evenly balanced between 2 hard working teams, but eventually the legs of 'dads army’ were outrun by their younger opponents and N Staffs converted twice in quick succession. OW response was to push the skipper forward - he responded with a mazy run beating 5 opponents (or so he would have you believe), eventually being stopped by a N Staffs foot, the resulting quick hit finding Mellis who slapped in a fine finish from the top of the D.

A great all round effort from the whole team, but eventually we fell short of claiming anything from the game.
