Match Report | The 1st league outing of the season saw OW 4ths travel to Sutton 6ths. A much changed team saw the introductions made before the start. OW quickly conceded a soft goal waiting for the 'twirling overhead hit through the legs' to be deemed dangerous - the loose ball falling to an unmarked forward who gently eased the ball under Dill. Shortly after Farmer B was forced off with a leg injury and Sutton created several chances, usually by overload, converting two. 0-3 at halftime. A re shape of the midfield saw OW become more competitive in the middle of the park, and gradually we took control. Some fine work by Johnson P saw him elude his marker and feed Wall I who slotted home. The rest of the half saw OW in the ascendancy, but a failure to convert chances, followed by a last second breakaway saw Sutton home. A game of 2 halves! Special mentions to James Wall who was not overawed by his 4th team debut, Paul Johnson for a fine, lone forward, performance and Julian Myatt for playing right midfield! And Dill who saved more than we conceded. Plenty of positives moving on to the next game.
