Match Report | The thirds signed off the for the season with probably the best away performance for the season. Hampton had already beaten us in the home fixture 5-1. The first half was pretty even with Hampton's young side providing more finesse but Old Wulfs matching them with workrate. O'Sullivan was foiled by the keeper in a 1on1, the skipper also had a couple of chances to open the scoring. The only goal of the first half came from a wonderful solo effort from one of the Hampton youths which gave Dillworth no chance. The second half followed a siliar pattern, skills versus commitment. Towards the end of the game the Wulfs tired and Hampton upped the number of chances. They finally got their 2nd goal with the last attack of the game. Man of the Match - For once we allowed Dillworth a quiet game, the back four worked hard against the youtful Hampton attack. The central midfield trio of Colman,Tustin and O'Sullivan worked their socks off. However for his finest game of the season this week it has to be Rai who worked tirelessly to nullify the speedy and tricky Hampton winger. So a season ends with relegation, However I'd like to thank all the players who played for the 3rds this season it's been tough but I hope you all had some fun. (Special thanks to Roger for looking afetr the side in the weeks that I missed) Player of the season - Ian Dillworth (just pipping young Andy Cooper) Top Scorers, Lally, Tustin, Thompson, Jandu Most appearances - Adrian Hill (only missed one game) |
