Match Report | The last game before the Christmas break saw some players in a Pogues inspired festive mood whilst others settled more for the Grinch approach. We had managed to retain Chris Tutton and Owen and Rich Roberts joined us for a rare away outing. The skipper was nursing some illness on the sidelines but still managed his inspirational talks. With a similar side to the previous week we managed just as consistent a performance and result. The order of the goals eludes me but the result was a 5 -1 victory with goals from Joe, Owen(2) Rich and Martin. Mr Hemmings was reserving his energy for the pub later so Alex Thompson made forays into the opposition half acclimatising well to the strange environment. Joe was consistent as ever and the defence, joined this week by Kram, remained solid and largely untroubled. We did have opportunity to score more and with the benefit of Martin’s on pitch coaching we will need to be more efficient in the opposition “D” for when we play against the higher placed teams. However still a good days work. |
