Match Report Another disappointing result but a very promising performance for Old Wulfs against a strong Kingswinford side. Wulfs took control of the game in the first half, bossing the midfield as Ablard, Pritchard, Griffiths and Cartwright dominated the infamous and familiar faces of the visitors. Play was understandably fast and furious in this grudge match but perhaps surprisingly it was being played in a good-spirited and highly competitive game. Both sides created a number of penalty corners, the closest effort a drag flick from Kingswinford cleared off the line by Ablard. But at half time it was goalless. The away side began to assert themselves in the second half, but were held back when a defender was yellow carded. They were soon back to full strength though, and despite a number of saved penalty corner efforts, they took the lead after a skilful run and square pass. Perhaps unwisely, Wulfs brought off Alan Brown in an effort to bolster their attacking play. However Kingswinford took advantage and were picking open the defence almost at will, scoring two more goals. A consolation goal for Wulfs went uncelebrated when Ashworth slotted one home, but there were plenty of plus points from a brave effort over the 70 minutes.
