Match Report | Wulfs suffered defeat in a game they dominated for long periods. Despite missing three regular first-teamers Wulfs made Kidderminster look shaky during the first half as Griffiths repeatedly stole possession in midfield whist partner-in-crime Ablard distributed with accuracy. As the half wore on Old Wulfs began to carve open a number of goal scoring opportunities, only to be denied by some spectacular saves from the home-team 'keeper. But it was from one of these saves that eventually Wulfs took the lead, as Ablard pounced on the ball and lifted the ball from a tight angle over the helpless 'keeper. Half time proved to be the turning point in the game, as a tiring away side began to wilt in the Autumn sunshine during the second half. With no substitutes legs were beginning to grow weary. A yellow card for Birch converted fatigue to panic, and Kidderminster started to attack with more confidence. Shortly after his return a Kiddy free hit was taken a good distance from the point of the infringement and Wulfs were caught off-guard, conceding a penalty corner which resulted in an equaliser. A defensive lapse led to a second goal which sealed the fate of Wulfs, who now have to rally to face Kingswinford in a weeks time. |
