Match Report |
Always likely to be a tricky game against our divisional rivals, matters were made harder thanks to the lack of Griffiths and Ablard, both our central midfielders.
Into the breach stepped Pritchard and M Cartwright, and it soon became clear that the pre-match team talk had sunk in; Wulfs defence was rock-solid, distribution quick and accurate and ball-possession excellent.
First half goals from a superbly executed penalty corner converted by D Cartwright and superb finishes from Hart and Shave, Wulfs were cruising 3-0 at the half.
The second half was a case of preserving energy on a hot day, practising our passing skills and keeping it tight at the back. A poor penalty stroke from Kidderminster was a minor warning, and they did scramble a goal, but Wulfs were playing within themselves by now, picking off one more goal.
Michael Birch claimed Man of the Match with a flawless performance at right back, part of an all-round team showing to be proud of. |
