Match Report | We had a rare badgers fixture against Wednesbury, who had kindly agreed to drop the age of their team to match ours. So basically an U13 game with 14 year olds Ben Wall and Josh Wilson playing as our adults to match up with Wednesbury s 2 adults. Ollie Thompson made his debut and played well at the back, combing well with Noah ,Ricky and Ben Wall at the back to restrict Wednesbury to a couple of shots in the first half. Harry Rowley made many good runs down the right wing, combing regularly with Joseph Mellis . Dan Taylor, Josh and James controlled the other side of the pitch , with Dylan Billy and William taking it in turns to be available in the D. Eventually our pressure paid off via a Dan Taylor wobble through the wednesbury defence , drawing the keeper out and slipping the ball to Dylan to calmly finish. 1 0 at half time. Wednesbury started the second half on fire pushing us back forcing Dan to make a number of saves. But they eventually forced in a deserved equaliser. We then woke up and battled back into the game forcing Wednesbury to defend deep into their half. Another Dan Taylor wobble put us 2 1 in front this time no pass other than into the goal. Soon after Dan made it 3 1 with a goal direct from a short corner, both teams made and missed chances but the final score remained 3 1 an excellent performance and game. Dan Taylor was voted man of the match. |
