Fifths this week had a balanced team of senior and junior players as they faced a home game against Stafford 5ths. We had much of the early pressure, but had to wait until Martin Jandu had had a few 'sighters' before eventually taking a deserved lead when Martin had adjusted his aim to hit the goal. Against the run of play, Stafford got a goal back with a mix of good fortune and poor marking to make it even at half time. 5ths continued to press as the second half started, and this paid off when debutant Ben Farmer forced the ball into the net. Martin then truly found his aim and scored two more to complete his hat-trick and see us end the game 4 - 1 winners. Ben Wall had his now customary excellent game; Jake Aldersley showed excellent skills in attack; Dan Jandu, Alex Sankey, Paul Johnson and Dan Taylor are all continuing to develop and enhance their contributions to the team. Another solid team performance.
